Happy Birthday Hope!!

Happy Birthday, dear Hope,
Happy Birthday to YOU

You are a blessing to everyone who knows you.  Your cheerful attitude, your genuine concern for others,
your love of Jesus and what is right, your desire to work hard at what you're doing--all of those are qualities
that endear you to us.  You're a lot of fun.  I'm blessed to be training you to be a sweet lover of your home.
I'm having fun at sewing lessons.  We love to watch you dance.   Keep your sweet heart and refreshing smile.

"Serve the LORD with gladness..." Psalm 100:2

"This job has been given to me to do.
   Therefore, it is a gift.
   Therefore, it is a priviledge.
Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God.
Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done
       for Him.
Here, not somewhere else, I may learn
      God's way.
In this job, not some other,  God looks for faithfulness."
                            --Elisabeth Elliot
Titus 2:4
"That they (the older women) admonish the young women to love their husbands,
to love their children, to be disreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient
to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be blasphemed."

October Perfection

                                                       Yankee's new best fall candle

This week taco soup and caramel flan will hopefully appear from this cookbook.  I'll post recipes if it does.
October is one of my favorite months.  It is hard to beat October weather when it is typical and at its best.  Today we have very little wind,a bright sunny sky, and temperatures in the high 60s.  That's outside--here are pictures of the fall beauty we are enjoying inside.

T-139 (Hours Until the Wedding)

Wedding week has officially begun.  In one week it will all be over and a good memory.  Tonight the wedding party was honored at a dinner at Jack and Bokie Cleghorns.  They are long time friends of Lucy's mom, Gracie and went above and beyond the call of duty to treat us all to a wonderful evening.  Beginning
of a good week.

Last Rose of Summer

This won't be the last rose of summer but their days are numbered.  Today was
a near perfect day-- no wind, temperatures in the 70's, and a cloudless sky.
Hope pointed out the roses last evening while Anna shot baskets, Lynn walked,
and Ashley finished up  12 hours at work.   All in all a really good day.
